Montessori Wooden Shape Sorter Cube
Let customers speak for us
from 34 reviewsWe were planning to buy the Inny Bin for our 10M old, when I stumbled upon this one in my recommendations. The wooden frame caught my eye, since I prefer wooden toys over plastic. The toy itself comes in cute packaging. I like how it acts both as a shape sorter, and a freestyle box. While my baby is now a pro at removing the blocks through the bands, I like how we can eventually teach her about shapes as well. We also like to stack the blocks, and have our baby hurricane tear them to the ground. The blocks themselves are super cute - wooden, colourful, with a gentle sound. But I would suggest being around your child when s/he’s playing, since the blocks may just break and the small rattles can be a choking hazard. If your baby mouths EVERYTHING like mine does, you can expect the paint on the blocks to chip. But it’s still very worth it, and a few dollars cheaper than the Inny Bin. Go for it!
If you just want your kid to have a shape sorter, buy the cheap plastic ones with lids instead. They tend to be more forgiving. These slots are somewhat tight, so if the shape is inserted at an angle, it'll easily get stuck. You won't notice this as an adult, but little kids are a lot goofier. The blocks themselves are awesome. They have a decent heft. Several of them rattle. And they're the perfect size for infants--too big to fit in mouths, but small enough to be grasped. My kid doesn't understand shapes yet, but these are his favorite blocks to stack and knock down.So far, the cube and blocks have survived half a year of pretty rough use!
This exceeded my expectations. It’s very well made! The pieces rattle but aren’t super loud or annoying. I definitely recommend.

Cute package and quality toy. My baby seems to like it. It keeps him busy for a while!
This was a birthday present for my one year old granddaughter and was a huge hit! It's clear that it will grow with her as she develops, which increases the value. Right now she can take the blocks in and out of the side with only vertical bands. As she gets older she'll be able to do the other sides. The blocks make a lovely soft rattle sound which she loves. An excellent choice and very well made!
Well built and sturdy. My granddaughter loves it even though she’s still too small to match the objects to fit them in.
10 month baby is able to pull blocks out and put them back in through the ropes, not quite at the level to put the blocks through their corresponding holes. Easy to pack up with us on travels and baby loves it.
I spent a lot of time researching a dozen shape sorting toys like this. This is by far the best. It is aesthetically lovely to look at. The wood is well sanded with smooth corners. The elastics are soft and stretchy and loose enough for my 8 month old grandson to push his hands through with no problem…but not too loose! The blocks are a perfect shape for little hands and the rattle inside is an added bonus. The toy will grow with my grandson…when he’s tired of pushing the blocks through the horizontal elastics, he’ll graduate to the criss cross elastics. In a few months, he’ll enjoy slipping the blocks through the correct shaped holes. The blocks are easily stackable, and there are not too many to be frustrating to sort as is often the case with toys like this.
One of the best toys I've purchased for my 8mo old. It keeps him so entertained, its multifunctional and well constructed. Could not be happier.
I've had this toy for about a year now and it's still very sturdy and none of the rope has popped off and the blocks still look scratch free as well. Great quality and good learning tool.
Extremely well made. And I’m not someone on Temu calling all the clothes good quality . It’s legitimately a well made product. The bungee bands are tight but moveable. The shapes do not go falling out when inside. The best part is the shapes are RATTLES!
Our 1 yr old still plays with this. Sturdy, nicely made. No sharp corners.
Our just-turned-one yr old granddaughter loved this, and so did her parents.. It was part of her birthday present. An updated version of an old standby, it’s better made, more colorful, and more interesting. Smooth wood and sturdy elastic. The pieces that fit into the cut-outs, or slide between the elastic, also make quiet noises. A very successful gift. I would gift it again.
Our toddler is obsessed with shape blocks, and trying to figure out how to fit them into their spots and how to remove them. They also have rattles in the shapes, which he loves!
